About Evinrude Outboard Boat Motors
The name Ole Evinrude is a name that only bespeaks of the first Evinrude outboard motor. Since 1909 when the Evinrude idea was born to now, the space of what has been churned out in the outboard boat motors industry is almost filled up. And it is with such ideas and the implementation thereof that we can now excitingly say and speak about the many models that have been brought to the market by the Evinrude outboard motors company. To fully understand the import of the current Evinrude models it must behoove us to go back to its history to see the sure footsteps that were left back then and how the Evinrude company simply had to retrace the steps to come up with the boat motors that are now of top notch quality.
Let’s get back to history
The super Elto Quad of only 18 horsepower was a model that was brought to the market fore in 1928 by Evinrude. The speed was above 35 mph and the boat motor literally introduced a new era of recreational boating. Evinrude was evidently and powerfully there when in 1930 the electric start was introduced to the outboards and a year later Outboard Motor Corporation displaced Johnson to be the global leader in outboard boat motors manufacturing. Evinrude is currently under the ownership of sports boat manufacturer and the Sea-Doo watercraft company. It must now be remembered that the 135 hp Evinrude starflite appeared in both the James Bond movie called “ live and Let Die” of 1973 and the Guinness world record books for over a 100 leaps in a police chase hunt.
Environmental compliance with the Evinrude
2001 was not a good year for the Outboard Motor Corporation as due to financial hard times, it was forced to fold and a takeover by BRP became the only savior. Then the Evinrude outboard motors started becoming environmentally savvy to meet the demands of the US Environment protection agency, famously known as the EPA. 2005, the Clean Air excellence Award, the EPA recognized the effort and gave Evinrude the honor for the Evinrude E-Tec technology.
Today
Currently, Evinrude outboard motors has one of the classiest and most powerful outboard boat motors range in the world. The 3441cc V6 displacement and 300 hp model is in a world of it own. It has gearcases coupled with efficient fuel injection that make it very cool to put on water. The MFE or the Multi Fuel Engine is yet another Evinrude boat motor that can glide on kerosene or by a simple flip of the switch use standard gasoline to power it. The engine is also completely immersible making it a machine that is abreast with the current technological trend.
The sports type E-Tec high Output engines powered by a good horsepower, 55hp MFE and commercial 90 and 65hp engines are just a few of the current powerful Evinrude outboard motors that one can buy. All of the models are primed to offer a good deal as it has been an Evinrude custom over the years.

Why does the 350 chevy in my I.O. boat still run hot after extensive work?
I have run this 26 ft. raw water cooled boat for years with no thermestate getting an engine temp. of 150 when running at a full speed of 25 mph at 4200rpm. Last summer the boat ran slow for the last 4 times out because of what turned out to be a fouled carborator. I was glad to find full power restored this spring with carborator now professionally checked out but reinstalled by me. (Idle air/fuel settings done by the book after installation) The problem is the engine now runs hot (160 at idle up to 190 at 2000 rpm) That gives me 8 mph. A higher rpm will cook the engine. I have checked the temp. sensor and gague for accurace, changed outdrive pump impeller, cleaned manafolds and risors, installed a new engine circulating pump, varified proper timing and timing advance, checked compression and inspected spark plugs which looked too clean so I rechecked carborator settings incase they were too lean and checked for leaks in carborator gasket and intake manefold.
Check and make sure you haven’t got a restriction in a water inlet line.Also are there any hoses that could be collapsing and restricting water flow?
