Any idea or suggestion from Bangkok to northern Thailand in a week. I like hiking, canoeing, etc, but on our own – not a group tour. What areas are nicer? What is the best way to travel – rent a car or public transport? Do you like then go through Luang Prabang – the best way to get there? We travel at Christmas – must book in advance?
