Sunny Beach is a bustling tourist resort in Bulgaria that is rapidly rising in popularity. So if you’re got a holiday booked to this stunning Black Sea resort then what is there to do when you get there?
Firstly, this is a very lively place. It boasts a tourist strip that is almost 6 miles long that follows the shoreline and lays directly on the beach. On this strip you will find literally hundreds of bars and restaurants that are open until the early hours in the morning. These bars and restaurants fall into pretty much every sort of category you can imagine from themed pubs such as English and Irish pubs right through to themed restaurants such as the Castle restaurant where you can eat in a Medieval Castle or even in an old Viking Ship opposite on the beach.
There are dozens and dozens of late night clubs too to visit which cater for all sorts of music taste from karaoke and 70′s music, folk music and even local Bulgarian music, right through to clubs aimed at the younger crowds with the latest club music and hits.
But it’s not all just pubs and partying. There are plenty of other things to do in Sunny Beach.
At the beach there are a number of water sports including jet skiing, paragliding and banana boat rides. Prices start at around 30lev (£12) and go up to around 60lev (£27) for half an hour on the jet ski’s.
Things to do in Sunny Beach in Bulgaria also include 4×4 safari trips. These trips often last half a day to a whole day and take you our of the bustling tourist resorts and off-road into the wilderness where you can visit traditional Bulgarian villages, take in the countryside and see some of the locals making local products such as cheese, wines and rose oil.
Activities in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria also include catamaran trips and boat trips. Most of these leave from the nearby port of Nessebar and take you through the calm waters of the Black Sea often including a stop for snorkeling where you will be able to see the local sea life, although beware of the large numbers of jellyfish in some parts of these waters.
Finally, things to do in Sunny Beach obviously includes shopping. Sunny Beach boasts literally thousands of individual stalls and shops that line the long promenade and lead back into the town centre. You cannot walk anywhere in Sunny Beach without have shops and stalls tempting you with local goods. For something slightly more upmarket you may wish to visit the Sunny Beach Mall which boasts some high class clothes shops and electrical stores. The stands and normal shops around the main strip are often open until the early hours of the morning, however note that the Sunny Beach Mall closes at 10pm.
So, there are plenty of things to do in Sunny Beach and remember to always check the tourist boards left on the strip for the newest excursions and latest trips that are available.
