You can cross the ocean in a crate, but not a great idea. The inflatable Sevylor 12-foot boat is a beautiful lake, or for use as a tender in protected harbors, but the beach can be dangerous. It will float forever if not hidden, but what are their options if the engine fails and the wind is blowing offshore? You will not be able to swim against a moderately strong wind and must be rescued or prepare an long, slow journey to France (or Tahiti). These boats are a lot of money, but the hulls are not as durable as coasters 3 to 5 times more …. so …. no take risks …. not a ship at sea, nomatter what they say.
